Sunrise Padparadscha sapphire is an exceptional variety of corundum, characterized by a dominant orange color enhanced with delicate pink nuances. This distinctive orangish hue evokes the first light of dawn, hence its name 'Sunrise'. According to GRS, the Sunrise type displays medium to strong saturation with an orange base and pink touches (Orangy-Pink).

Heat TreatmentHeat treatment improves or intensifies the orange-pink color. Widely accepted in the market but must be disclosed. Significantly reduces value compared to unheated stones. Permanent and stable.
Untreated (Natural)Untreated Sunrise Padparadscha are extraordinarily rare. They require certification from GRS, GIA, Gübelin or SSEF. Can be worth 3 to 5 times more than a comparable heated stone.
Beryllium DiffusionControversial treatment that artificially creates the color. Must absolutely be disclosed as it drastically affects value. Some laboratories do not certify these stones as true Padparadscha.
