Garnets are one of the most diverse gemstone families, spanning a remarkable range of colors from fiery reds and warm oranges to vivid greens and subtle pinks. Our collection features spessartine, rhodolite, hessonite, tsavorite, mali, grossular and umbalite garnets, each with its own unique character. Sourced directly from partner mines and cut in Sri Lanka, every stone is hand-selected for exceptional color saturation and clarity. Browse our current inventory below.
Few gemstone families offer the extraordinary chromatic range of garnet. Far beyond the deep reds most people associate with this mineral group, garnets span a breathtaking spectrum from fiery Mandarin oranges to lush forest greens, regal purples, and every warm hue in between.
Garnet is not a single mineral but a group of closely related silicate species. Almandine delivers classic deep red. Pyrope offers vivid, pure reds. Spessartite, particularly the Fanta/Mandarin variety, exhibits electric orange tones. Grossular includes the coveted tsavorite green. Andradite garnets, especially demantoid, display fire that rivals diamond.
Hardness 6.5 to 7.5 Mohs. One of their most compelling attributes is that they are overwhelmingly untreated, the colors are exactly as nature created them.
